St. Pius X Wrestling Program

St Pius X WrestlingCarl was a St. Pius graduate and a member/captain/state qualifier of the Pius Wrestling team and the wrestling program was very important to him. On May 15, 2008 we dedicated the first St. Pius X Wrestling award and made the first donation to the wrestling team. The memorial fund will also sponsor the first Carl Stephen Wright Memorial Wrestling Tournament in January 2009.

Beneficiaries

So who benefits from the Memorial Fund?

Your contributions go directly to support non-profit organizations leading the way for kids to experience the outdoors in it's purest form. These experiences are life-changing.

Here are some of the organizations we support with your generous donations, in memory of Carl:

Outward Bound

Outward BoundMission: To inspire character development and self-discovery in people of all ages and walks of life through challenge and adventure, and to impel them to achieve more than they ever thought possible, to show compassion for others and to actively engage in creating a better world.

Wyoming Community Foundation

Wyoming Community FoundationMission: The Wyoming Community Foundation was established in 1989 to serve as a philanthropic vehicle to gather, grow and grant charitable resources as an investment in Wyoming people and communities.  The development director Press Stephens is a friend of (big) Carl, whom he met on a horse packing trip in Wyoming.  Press's knowledge and concern for the Wyoming wilderness so impressed Carl that he named his son, Carl's brother, Preston after him. We are confident our donation will be put to good use, protecting the Wyoming wilderness and its fragile ecosystems.  Our goal with the Wyoming Community Foundation is to have a peak or undiscovered pass named for little Carl.

FFA Wildlife Camp

The FFA Wildlife Camp is a week-long residential summer camp for boys and girls. The goal of this program is to increase safety, awareness, and appreciation of wildlife and outdoor sports among young boys and girls in an exciting and dynamic environment. There are two programs available: Basic Wildlife Camp and Advanced Wildlife Camp. FFA Wildlife Camps are hosted by the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington, GA.
